Anna Hite- Career Marketing III 2nd Semester
Anna Hite is a senior at Plymouth High School. She has worked as an Interactive Media intern since the summer of 2016 and has been a student at the Weidner School of Inquiry (WSOI) for the past three years. Hite is familiar with Photoshop, Motion, Final Cut Pro, iMovie and shooting video and still photography. She is currently a proud member of Future Farmers of America (FFA), Seed Club, Art Club, Sunshine Society, Dance Marathon, Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), Pep Club, LEAD Club, Key Club and American Field Service (AFS). Hite serves as a mentor for the incoming freshman class and is on the PHS soccer team.
During the 2016-2017 school year Hite received recognition for being the Plymouth High School student of the month for her dedication to a summer internship she held with the Plymouth Community School Corporation’s marketing department.
During her summer marketing internship Hite covered several events for the PHS and PCSC websites and the corporation’s social media channels. Some of her pictures capturing the Rockie annual Football Camp and the PHS summer baseball camp, as well as her images of the 2016 commencement ceremony were featured by local radio station WTCA AM/FM and the Pilot News.
While on assignment for her 2016 summer marketing internship, Hite got a taste of how it is on the other side of the camera, when she was interviewed by ABC 57 News about her time spent with Mr. Bob Pickell, a former music teacher who died unexpectedly less than a month after he retired.
Hite worked as a freelance marketing professional for the United Way of Marshall County during the summer in 2016 and created the organization's campaign video. The opportunity helped jump-started her involvement with multimedia projects in the marketing world. She was part of the WSOI sophomore class-wide Marshall County Bicentennial Agricultural Project during the 2015-2016 school year. Hite was on a panel with five of her WSOI peers that were hand selected by the school’s administration to interview U.S. Senator Joe Donnelly.
During the 2015-2016 school year, she discovered her passion for covering collegiate athletics when she was chosen to represent PTV as a credentialed member of media at the University of Notre Dame. Not only has she covered the Irish on the sidelines of the football field, but she has also had the opportunity to cover the Irish on the basketball court as well.
Hite can be seen on the sidelines most Friday night’s capturing all the action by still photography or video of the Plymouth Rockies football team for PTV. Hite is proud of her work that went into the 2016 Rockie Football Recap video with her fellow PHS marketing classmate Josie Koontz. Last season Hite created a highlight video on the Plymouth swim team’s quest to build a new pool. She had the opportunity to shoot video for an hour-long documentary that aired on WNIT titled, “Our Town-Plymouth.”
Hite plans to further her love for photography and videography this school year by creating more interactive media marketing projects for PCSC and PTV while back in the digital marketing program for a second semester. After graduating from high school in May of 2018, she plans to attend Ball State University, to study photo journalism. After college Hite’s dream job is to one day become one of the University of Notre Dame’s main sports photographers. She hopes to be able to meet Notre Dame senior photographer Matt Cashore this year.
