Josie Koontz - Radio TV I (1st & 2nd Semester)
Career Marketing II (1st Semester)
Josie Koontz is a senior at Weidner School of Inquiry @PHS. Once she graduates from high school and college, she plans to pursue a career in the media or in the marketing industry.
She has been taking media related elective courses here in the Plymouth Community School Cooperation stemming back to 2012. Koontz is extremely familiar with Photoshop, iMovie, Final Cut Pro, Motion as well as shooting video and still photography. She has assisted Fairmount Homes located in Nappanee, as a summer digital marketing intern.
She is currently an officer of the PHS club Alpha Delta Roe (ADR), a proud member of IMPROV club, a mentor to the underclassmen, and the head pitcher for the Plymouth varsity softball team.
Koontz is proud to have played an important role in the WSOI Bicentennial Project during the 2015-2016 school year, where she was part of a team of four hand-selected leaders, who met with U.S. Senator Joe Donnelly during his visit which focused on preserving Marshall County agriculture for decades to come. She is also proud to have been apart of the creation of ‘Our Town Plymouth,’ a hour-long documentary that aired on WNIT in 2016, where she worked as a volunteer freelance videographer documenting specific video footage for the project.
After discovering her videography skills, Break The Grey, a group of leaders who travel the country to stop bullying, reached out to Koontz in 2016 and recommended that she work for them once she reaches eligible age.
The Indianapolis pop station, WZPL, has shared Koontz’s photos to promote and reflect on their annual Birthday Bash concert. Her images have been seen on various Michiana news websites including, but not limited to WTCA 1050 AM/FM., WKVI FM., The Pilot News and WNDU TV.
Josie is excited to be part of both the PTV marketing and radio/TV team this year as well as a first semester media marketing intern. Second semester she will be interning at radio station MAX 98.3 FM. She is planning to accomplish great things her senior year and make the decision on where she will continue her education next fall when she enters college.
